The Danville Public Library will hold a genealogy workshop, "Family History Research 102: The Basic Records," on Saturday, September 21 at 10 am in the library's program room on the ground floor. The workshop is designed for beginning researchers, as well as for all those who want to brush up on their genealogy skills. Cindy Rutledge from the library's Indiana Room will discuss vital records, census records and more.

Danville library's genealogy group to discuss historical maps online
The Danville library's Genealogy Nuts genealogy group will meet on Monday, August 12 at 1 pm in the library's program room on the ground floor. Monique Howell, Indiana Collection Librarian from the Indiana State Library, will discuss how to use historical maps that are online. Digital efforts of museums, universities and private collectors have made many historical maps available online - learn where to find historical maps online and explore some online tools and interactive sites.
