According to a newspaper article, in September 1955, the Hendricks County Circuit Court had its 20,000th civil case filed since 1870 (when they began using consecutive numbering for court cases). Case #20,000 was Lew F. Dunbar vs. William Hence Hargrave in a complaint for ejectment and $500 damages. Dunbar operated the Dunbar Automobile Parts Property on the east side of Cartersburg Road in Center Township, and sought to obtain possession of the one-room living quarters on his property, occupied by Hargrave.
