George PADGETT injures hand in accident (1903)

source: The Republican (Danville, Indiana) - issue of Thursday, November 5, 1903 - page 1, column 6:

UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT
The buzz saw at the plant of the Pinnell Barnett Lumber Company is responsible for another serious accident. George Padgett had his right hand severely injured Monday afternoon. In some manner unknown even to himself his hand came in contact with the saw which fearfully lacerated the thumb and index and middle fingers. Dr. Huron, who dressed the injured member, stated that in all probability amputation of the two fingers will be necessary. The thumb, he thinks, can be saved. Harry Stutesman received injuries in the same way about a year ago.
