Name change of Jennifer Lynne HUBBARD (1985)

According to a legal notice, in December 1985 Amber Lynne Fisher filed a petition in the Hendricks County Circuit Court (case # C 12 85-420) to change the name of her minor child from Jennifer Lynne Hubbard to Jennifer Lynne Fisher. The petition was scheduled to be heard in court on February 18, 1986.

Adoption of Shirley Ann WILSON (1941)

According to a Hendricks County Probate Court docket sheet, in April 1941 a petition was filed by Fred C. and Julia L. Fisher (case #6618) to adopt Shirley Ann Wilson, age 5. Her mother, Grace Wilson, and her grandmother, Martha Lyenberger, both gave their written consent, and her father, Nealie J. Wilson, appeared in court and gave his consent. The petition was granted, and her name was changed to Shirley Ann Fisher.

FamilySearch Adds Indiana World War I Draft Registration Cards

FamilySearch has added Indiana's records to its database, United States, World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918. After the United States officially entered the war in April 1917, there were 3 drafts held for men ages 18-45. Local draft boards created registration cards on residents who were in this age range and thus could potentially be called up to serve in the military. These draft registration cards have a lot of genealogical information on them, including their birthdate, street address and occupation, as well as a physical description.
