According to a legal notice, in January 1970 there was a petition filed by Larry William Thomas in the Hendricks County Superior Court (case # A 70-2) to adopt Mark Aaron Chestnut, a minor. His biological father, Van Robert Chestnut, was listed as not a resident of Indiana. The case was scheduled to be heard in court on March 12, 1970.
