According to a Hendricks County Probate Court docket sheet, in March 1936 a petition was filed (case #6219) to adopt Jon Bertrand Thompson, a minor child. His mother, Mary E. Thompson, filed her written consent, and the petition was granted. His name was changed to Jon Bertrand Flathers.
