As mentioned in Hendricks County Circuit Court Order Book 114 (November 1966 - December 1967), in September 1967, Jesse Allen Beard petitioned the court (case # C 67-225) to change his name to John Richard Beard. Because he was under 21, the petition was filed by Mary Belle Beard. This petition was granted.
