According to a legal notice, in September 1965 there was a petition filed by Melvin Gene Morrison and Mary Lee Morrison in the Hendricks County Superior Court (case # A 65-27) to adopt Opal Joan Stice, a minor. Her biological father, Clarence Stice, was listed as living at 317 North J Street, Oskaloosa, Iowa. The case was scheduled to be heard in court on December 6, 1963.
