Adoption of Mary Katherine HACKER and Jackson Carl HACKER, Jr. (1973)

According to a legal notice, in March 1973 there was a petition filed by Henry William Douglas in the Hendricks County Superior Court (case # A 73-20) to adopt minor children Mary Katherine Hacker and Jackson Carl Hacker, Jr. Their biological father, Jackson Carl Hacker, was listed as having abandoned and deserted them. Their biological mother was listed as Mary Katherine Douglas. The case was scheduled to be heard in court 30 days after publication of the legal notice.

Marjorie DOUGLAS granted annulment (1951)

As mentioned in Hendricks County Circuit Court Civil Order Book Volume 100 (April 1951 - June 1952), in September 1951 Marjorie J. Thornton was granted an annulment from Hobart D. Thornton (case #18771). Their marriage of August 19, 1946 was declared to be void and she was restored to her maiden name, Marjorie J. Douglas.

Guynn Cemetery Association Formed in Liberty Township (1858)

As mentioned in Hendricks County Circuit Court Civil Order Book Volume 8 (March 1858 - August 1861), in October 1858 articles of association for the Guynn Cemeterial Association were filed with the county. J.O. Riley donated the land for the burial grounds, and the following people all paid $50 or $100 for their membership in the association:
