Harold THARP declared dead (1943)

According to a Hendricks County Probate Court docket sheet, in December 1943 a petition was filed by Vestal S. Tharp (case #6799) to be appointed administrator of the absentee estate of Harold Tharp, who had disappeared on February 18, 1913. His petition was granted, and Harold Tharp was declared dead.

Adoption of Alonzo MYERS (THARP) (1919)

As mentioned in Hendricks County Probate Order Book 41 (December 1918 - September 1919), in March 1919 Harry E. and Minnie L. Tharp of Brownsburg filed a petition (case #3330) to adopt Alonzo Myers, who was 20 years old. His father was dead and his mother, America King, lived in Illinois and consented to the adoption. The petition was granted and his name was changed to Alonzo Tharp.

Adoption of Adelpha (HARDING) THARP (1919)

As mentioned in Hendricks County Probate Order Book 41 (December 1918 - September 1919), in March 1919 Harry E. and Minnie L. Tharp of Brownsburg filed a petition (case #3331) to adopt Adelpha Harding, who was 12 or 13 years old. On March 7, 1919, Miami County's Juvenile Court had declared Adelpha to be a neglected child, and she had been a ward of the Board of Children's Guardians there. The board consented to the adoption, and her name was changed to Adelpha Tharp.

Guynn Cemetery Association Formed in Liberty Township (1858)

As mentioned in Hendricks County Circuit Court Civil Order Book Volume 8 (March 1858 - August 1861), in October 1858 articles of association for the Guynn Cemeterial Association were filed with the county. J.O. Riley donated the land for the burial grounds, and the following people all paid $50 or $100 for their membership in the association:
