According to a newspaper article, the Hendricks County Senior Center was to open on March 7, 1983 at 960 East Main Street in Danville. It was a United Way Agency offering on-site activities as well as shuttle service to the senior center from most parts of the county. It also would provide hot lunches each day to those age 60 and older, thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
