According to a legal notice, in September 1982 Charles Leroy Brooks, Jr. filed a petition in the Hendricks County Superior Court (case # A 82-27) to adopt minor children Christopher Michael Johnson and Amber Michelle Johnson. Their biological father, Brian Dale Johnson, was alleged to have abandoned and deserted them. The petition was scheduled to be heard in court 30 days after the legal notice was published.
