According to a legal notice, in February 1962 there was a petition filed by Floyd Rice in the Hendricks County Circuit Court to adopt Marvin George Monroe, a minor. His biological father, Marvin M. Monroe, was listed as whereabouts unknown. The case was scheduled to be heard in court on April 7, 1962.
