According to a legal notice, in February 1966, Charlotte H. Wright was petitioning the Hendricks County Circuit Court (case # A 65-22) to adopt Randy Carl Wright. His biological mother, Carolyn Wright, was listed as whereabouts unknown. The petition was to be heard in court on April 4, 1966.
